According to Gary Kleck, a professor emeritus of criminology at Florida State University, switches are typically popular with gun enthusiasts who are “playing soldier.” But, for criminal purposes, the professor said the switches make little sense, because the rapid gunfire makes it difficult to aim the weapon.
