Biography

Jody Sundt, Associate Dean of Graduate and Executive Education at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, is an expert in correctional policy, program implementation, public attitudes and research design.

Sundt consulted with the Oregon Department of Corrections, Smart Probation: Advanced Community Corrections Training Academy, the Effective Practices in Community Supervision Corrections Institute and the Monroe County Community Corrections. She was a volunteer probation officer at the Multnomah County Adult Community Corrections and served on the advisory board of the Oregon Half-Way House in Portland. She is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.

She has been published in academic journals and is the co-author of “Public Willingness to Downsize Prisons” and the author of “The Effect of Administrative Segregation on Prison Order and Organizational Culture.”

Sundt received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati and B.A. in English from Indiana University, Bloomington.
