Biography


Robin S. Engel, Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati and Vice President for Safety and Reform, is an expert in the administration of criminal justice, criminal justice reform and crime prevention.

Engel has researched, evaluated and worked directly with practitioners to implement crime reduction strategies while enhancing citizens’ perceptions of legitimacy for more than twenty years. She served as the principal investigator for more than 60 contracts and grants and continues to consult for international, state and municipal law enforcement agencies.

She has been published in scholarly journals including Ideas in American Policing, Criminology and Public Policy and Justice Quarterly. 

Engel received her Ph.D., M.A. and B.A. in criminal justice at the University of Albany, State University of New York.
