Biography


Anne Li Kringen, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven, is an expert in policing, gender and racial inequality, and police organizational policy.

Kringen has worked with the Police Foundation to qualitatively assess foot patrol practices and has assessed hiring practices within multiple metropolitan police departments. She is a member of the Division on Women and Crime and the Division of Policing within the American Society of Criminology and a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She previously served as a police officer in Alexandria, Virginia.

She has been published in numerous academic journals including Criminal Justice Policy Review, Feminist Criminology and Policing: A Journal of Policy and Practice.

Kringen received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Texas State University, M.A. in Criminal Justice from Boston University and B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Mary Washington.
